Greyhounds Come Up Short at No. 9 Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team was tied with No. 9 Misericordia University for most of the first 60 minutes of a non-conference contest before falling to the Cougars, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. 

How It Happened

  • Misericordia opened the scoring in the third minute of action for a quick 1-0 lead
  • The Greyhounds countered three minutes later on an unassisted goal by junior forward Carly Pyatt 
  • The match would remain 1-1 through the rest of the first half and nearly 15 minutes to start the second half
  • The Cougars scored twice in a three-minutes span with markers in the 60th and 63rd minutes to take control of the contest 

Inside the Numbers

  • Pyatt's goal was her second of the season and third of her career for the Hounds
  • Senior goalie Payce Korpics registered eight saves while playing all 90 minutes in the contest
  • Misericordia posted a 17-3 advantage in shots and a 13-2 edge in corner kicks 
  • The setback was the first of the season for Moravian, which is 2-1-2 overall
