BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University will be honoring the 2007 and 2008 Women's Soccer Teams coached by Eric Lambinus '94 with induction into the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame on September 22, 2023 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The 2007 squad completed the season with a 15-6-1 overall record and a 5-1 record in the inaugural Landmark Conference campaign. The Greyhounds made it to the Landmark Championship match, losing to top seed The University of Scranton, 4-2; however, the Hounds went on to earn a berth into the first round of the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. Goalie Caitlin Corrigan Boyer '09, who will also join the Moravian Hall of Fame next month, had a 0.79 goals-against average, 81 saves, 11 shutouts, and an assist in 1936 minutes of action to garner a spot on the All-Conference First Team that season while Moravian Hall of Fame member Tracy Fitzpatrick Franklin '09 had 14 goals and five assists for a total of 33 points and was honored as the inaugural Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
The 2008 team posted a record of 14-6-1 and a Landmark Conference slate of 4-1-1. The Greyhounds became the first Moravian women's soccer team to capture a conference championship when they defeated The Catholic University of America in the Landmark Championship match. The Greyhounds also earned their third NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. Fitzpatrick Franklin had 11 goals and eight assists for a total of 30 points and was once again named the Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year while Corrigan Boyer posted a 0.71 goals-against average, 94 saves and eight shutouts in 1,901 minutes of play, and she also had an assist to make the All-Conference First Team.
The women's soccer teams are being joined by women's basketball and women's track & field student-athlete Kelly Applegate '07; women's soccer goalie Caitlin Corrigan Boyer '09; baseball pitcher Brendan Close '12, women's volleyball setter Kaitie Kramer-Bicknell '00 and national champion javelin thrower Gary Zack '12 as well as the 1999 and 1998 women's volleyball teams to make up the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Also on Friday, September 22 in Johnston Hall as part of Moravian's Homecoming Weekend, Patricia Billie Miller '77 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.
