BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing to look back at its 2023-24 athletic campaign. The next contest in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 7 highlight – the field hockey team knocking off Elizabethtown College, 2-1 in double overtime, in the first round of the Landmark Conference Tournament.
The contest was played on October 28, 2023 on John Makuvek Field. The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead just over four minutes into the second quarter as junior forward Sydney Anderson netted a goal off a pass from senior defender Jenna Segrave. The Blue Jays countered in with a little over nine minutes left in regulation.
After a scoreless first overtime, Anderson scored the game-winning goal 4:16 into the second extra session off an assist from senior defender Onalee Long. The victory sent the Hounds into the Landmark Semifinals for the third straight fall.
