BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University senior Bekkah Kehoe and juniors Sydney Anderson, Alex Cherenson, Madi Dippel, Jackie Salvatore and Savannah Sutter have been honored on the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team for NCAA Division III schools.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student and be a starter or significant reserve that has played in 90 percent of the team's game or started 66 percent of the team's contests this year. Sports eligible for the women's at-large program are beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo.
By making the All-District Team, the group is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Tuesday, July 16. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.
Kehoe, a member of the field hockey squad, finished her dual degree in special education and early childhood education this spring with a 4.00 grade-point average. Kehoe saw action in 52 matches in her career including all 18 this past fall as a forward, and she started 22 contests in her career to go with nine goals including three game-winning goals and four assists. Kehoe was a four-time selection to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad, garnering Scholar of Distinction each year. Kehoe was a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List eight times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. She was also part of six honor societies on campus along with the French Club, Brain Club and as a writing fellow.
Anderson, a nursing major with a 3.61 grade-point average, netted five goals to go with two assists while starting all 18 matches as a forward for the field hockey team in 2023. She was selected to the 2022 NFHCA All-Region V Second Team after making the Landmark All-Conference First Team as both a sophomore and freshman. Anderson has started all 53 matches in her career and contributed 32 goals including eight game-winning goals to go with nine assists. Anderson has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List five times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, a three-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Cherenson, a public health major with a 3.98 grade-point average, was second on the women's lacrosse team with 77 points this spring on 66 goals and 11 assists to go along with 63 draw controls, 32 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers as she made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team as a midfielder for the second straight season. Cherenson has contributed 121 goals, 18 assists, 101 draw controls, 82 ground balls and 35 caused turnovers in 51 career matches for the Hounds with 42 starts. Cherenson has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Dippel, an environmental science major with a 3.61 grade-point average, finished the season third on the women's lacrosse squad with 66 points on 57 goals and nine assists to with 79 draw controls, 45 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers to garner a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team as a midfielder. Dippel has recorded 108 goals, 19 assists, 132 draw controls, 95 ground balls and 50 caused turnovers in 53 career contests for the Greyhounds including 38 starts. Dippel has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List three times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Salvatore, a public health major with a 3.90 grade-point average, was selected as the 2024 Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year and earned spots on the Landmark All-Conference First Team and Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Metro Region First Team as an attack after setting a school record with 109 points on 52 goals and a program record 57 assists this spring to go along with 91 draw controls, 32 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. Salvatore made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in both 2022 and 2023 and was honored as the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year in 2022. Salvatore has posted 259 points on 134 goals and 125 assists in three seasons to go with 127 draw controls, 92 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers while starting all 54 matches in her career. Salvatore has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Sutter, a psychology major with a 3.83 grade-point average, started all 18 matches this past fall, and she contributed one assist and a pair of defensive saves as a midfielder for the field hockey team. Sutter has played in 53 career matches with 20 starts, and she has two assists and three defensive saves in her career. Sutter has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, a three-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
