BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing to look back at its 2023-24 athletic campaign. The next match in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 3 highlight – the men's lacrosse team defeating The Catholic University of America, 11-10 in overtime, on Senior Day.
The contest took place on John Makuvek Field on April 13, 2024, and the Hounds honored the senior class prior to the start of the match. The contest was tight throughout the first half with the score knotted at 2-2 after the first quarter and 4-4 at halftime. Moravian began the second half with three straight goals as junior midfielder Aaron Judge, senior attack Brennan Fluehr and senior attack Trevor Dzama scoring to give the Blue & Grey a three-goal advantage. The Greyhounds led 8-6 after 45 minutes of action; however, Catholic scored the final three goals of the match including the tying goal with 1:16 on the clock to force overtime.
Moravian won the opening face-off of the extra session and called a timeout once entering the offensive zone. Shortly after the timeout and just 40 seconds into overtime, junior midfielder Steven Salica put a long-range shot into the goal for the victory.
