BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2022-23 athletic campaign. The fifth entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 6 highlight – junior Lexi Groff competing in the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

On Saturday, March 11, Groff made her first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championships when she competed in the high jump at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. Groff, who was the final entrant in the 20-competitor field for the event, finished in a tie for 19th in the high jump as she cleared the opening height of 1.56 meters (5-1.25) on her third attempt at the bar. She would make three attempts at 1.61 meters (5-3.25) but did not advance.

Groff nearly broke the school record early in the season with her NCAA qualifying mark of 1.66 meters (5-5.25), just two centimeters (three quarters of an inch) from the best height in program history.

The number five story in the countdown will be released on Friday, July 21.
