BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing to look back at its 2023-24 athletic campaign. The next match in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 5 highlight – the women's lacrosse team scoring four goals in the final 1:23 at Susquehanna University to rally for a 14-13 victory.
The match was played on March 28, 2024 in Selinsgrove. The Greyhounds had a quick start in the match with a pair of goals from Jackie Salvatore giving the Blue & Grey an early 2-0 advantage. The Hounds held a 4-2 lead after the first quarter; however, the River Hawks scored six times in the second quarter to send the teams to the intermission tied at 8-8. Susquehanna netted three goals in the third quarter while limiting Moravian to one goal to lead 11-9 after 45 minutes of action, and the River Hawks held a 14-11 advantage late in the fourth quarter.
The Greyhounds turned up the offense in the final minute and a half of the contest as junior midfielder Madi Dippel scored twice and sophomore midfielder Gianna Lotito tied the affair at 14-14 with just 24 seconds to play. With the River Hawks down players due to yellow card accumulation, the Blue & Grey needed only four seconds to take the lead as Dippel netted her fifth goal of the match with 20 seconds on the clock.
