86 Greyhounds Named to 2023 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference announced its 2023 Fall Academic Honor Roll selections today, with 745 student-athletes receiving recognition including 86 from Moravian University. The Honor Roll recognizes all fall student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.

Of the 745 student-athletes, a total of 452 received the recognition at least once. Additionally, seven Landmark All-Conference major award winners, and seven Fall Senior Scholar Athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

The spring academic honor roll will be announced in late May or early June. The honor roll will include all spring sports as well as men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming & diving, and men's and women's indoor track & field.

Moravian had student-athletes from all seven of its fall teams that compete in the conference with the women's soccer program leading the way with 22 honorees. The women's team had 15 selections while the field hockey squad had 13 student-athletes selected. The football and women's volleyball programs each registered ten honorees followed by the men's cross country team with nine and men's soccer squad with seven.

The women's soccer team placed seniors Amanda Aloia, Olivia Buckley, Maddie Eisele, Felicia Gall, Paige Harrison, Payce Korpics, Lauren Latchford, Kiara Morales and Alexa Vail, juniors Anika Buzzy, Megan Colton, Kylie Hughes, Chelsea Meltzer, Cori Pursel, Carly Pyatt, Maya Santos, Hailey Scaff, Natalie Reilly and Taylor Yoder and sophomores Grace Blenis, Colby Roach and Elliot Rupp on the Academic Honor Roll. Buckley, Harrison, Latchford, Korpics, Morales and Vail are all three-time honorees.

The women's cross country squad placed seniors Emma Garchinsky and Pia Mazzella DiBosco, juniors Rachael Goodman, Hannah Kolonoski, Catie Lovett, Ally Meeks, Lily Mingora, Rylie Murphy, Amber Poniktera and Lexi Rushatz and sophomores Tori Champagne, Meghan Myers, Sarah Rice, Tara Smurla and Grace Tirabassi on the Academic Honor Roll. It was the third selection for Garchinsky and Mazzella DiBosco.

The field hockey squad placed seniors Sarah Bietka, Bekkah Kehoe, Hanna Leto, Jenna Segrave and Maria Tice and juniors Sydney Anderson, Marianna Crisafulli, Lexi Dinsmore and Savannah Sutter and sophomores Megan Felmly, Bridget Kerrick, Jessica Knox and Brooke Sodl on the Academic Honor Roll. Bietka, Kehoe and Leto are each three-time selections.

The football team in its first year as a Landmark Conference sport had seniors Ben Carlin, Colin Conway and Chris Ortalano, juniors Jeremiah Espinosa, Jared Jenkins, Prince Sokpo and sophomores Nathan Carr, Ethan O'Neill, Josh Ruela and Landon Rutley named to the Academic Honor Roll. Carlin was a three-year honoree including two years by the Centennial Conference.

The women's volleyball squad had graduate student Kat Wilt, seniors Sophie Bauer, Allie Ludlow, Autumn Marrero, Grace Silfani and Emily Szy, juniors Jenna Deegan and Makenzie Krasley and sophomores Caroline Melillo and Ally Plitnick named to the Academic Honor Roll. Bauer, Ludlow, Silfani and Szy were honored for the third time.

The men's cross country team had graduate student Christian Jancsarics, seniors Casey Frank, Josh Mangini and Brendon Ward, juniors Jake Farrell, Geoffrey Kleinberg, Owen Nahf and Wyatt Poniktera and sophomore Bryan Kerchner each being honored. Jancsarics earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll for the fourth straight fall while Frank, Mangini and Ward were honored for a third consecutive year.

The men's soccer squad program had seniors Daniel Babbert, Donald Gibbs, Vito Leone, Zach Nicholas and Dave Steinbach, junior Kyle Weiss and sophomore Casey Foley named to the Academic Honor Roll. Steinbach earned the honor for a fourth time while Babbert, Gibbs and Leone were honored for a third straight fall.
