Six Hounds Named College Sports Communicators Men’s At-Large Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University juniors Sam Bingaman, Dan Kelly, Steven Salica and Kyle Weiss and sophomores Ryan Kokoszka and Mike Sickler have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student and be a starter or significant reserve that has played in 90 percent of the team's game or started 66 percent of the team's contests this year. For golf nominees, the student-athlete must have competed in 70 percent of the team's scoring events. Sports eligible for the men's at-large program are fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

By making the All-District Team, the group is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, July 17. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

Bingaman, a sports management major with a 4.00 grade-point average, played in 17 of 19 rounds for the Moravian golf team this year, averaging 83.12 strokes per round in his second season with a pair of top five finishes and a season low round of 75. Bingaman has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times since he transferred to the school, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. In the fall of 2022, Bingaman was a member of the football squad, earning D3football.com All-Region 2 Second Team honors and Centennial All-Conference First Team accolades as a punter.

Kelly, an economics major with a 3.77 grade-point average, was third on the squad this spring with 32 points on 22 goals and ten assists as a midfielder for the men's lacrosse squad to go with 21 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Kelly has contributed 35 goals, 19 assists, 41 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers in 39 career matches for the Hounds with six starts. Kelly has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Salica, a nursing major with a 3.62 grade-point average, recorded eight goals, six assists, 18 ground balls and three caused turnovers while playing all 18 matches as a midfielder on the men's lacrosse team this spring. Salica has recorded 29 goals, eight assists, 29 ground balls and five caused turnovers in 40 career contests for the Greyhounds with one start. Salica has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Weiss, an education major with a minor in sociology and a 3.66 grade-point average, is a three-sport student-athlete for the Greyhounds, competing in soccer in the fall, indoor track & field in the winter and men's lacrosse in the spring. Weiss has been named to four CSC Academic All-District Teams in his career. On the lacrosse field, he played in all 18 matches as a midfielder this spring with three goals, four assists, 40 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. Weiss has posted three goals, four assists, 79 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers in 43 career contests for the Moravian men's lacrosse team with one start. On the soccer pitch, Weiss has three goals and three assists in 49 career matches that include 36 starts. Weiss has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll and a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Kokoszka, a sports management major with a 3.93 grade-point average, started 13 of 17 matches this spring for the Greyhounds as an attack, and he had 19 goals, eight assists, 15 ground balls and two caused turnovers. Kokoszka has recorded 25 goals, nine assists, 16 ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in 30 career contests for the Hounds with 13 starts. Kokoszka has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times and a member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll once.

Sickler, a nursing major with a 3.95 grade-point average, started all 18 matches this season as a defender for the men's lacrosse team, and he had 40 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. Sickler has posted 49 ground balls and 34 caused turnovers in 28 career matches for the Greyhounds with 18 starts. Sickler has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times and a member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll once.
