WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's swimming team began its 2023-24 season with a double dual meet at Wilkes University that included The University of Scranton Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

• Junior Catie Lovett was the runner-up in both the 50-yard backstroke in a PR and school record time of 30.50 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.66. Lovett was also fifth in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.52 seconds
• Junior Sarah Mazzetti took fourth in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:17.66, and she was fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke in 39.94 seconds. Mazzetti placed seventh in the 50-yard butterfly in 35.01 seconds
• Freshman Mia Espinal finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 2:52.97, and she was sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in 7:41.91
