Moravian Men Take Third in 2024 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's indoor track & field squad took third in the 2024 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University as the Greyhounds scored 107 points. The Hounds won two events and recorded four All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks. 

Moravian Event Winners

  • Sophomore Jerome Luckey captured the high jump with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 2.01 meters (6-7) to garner ten points. Luckey won the title on needing fewer attempts to clear the height
  • Junior Owen Nahf won the first track event of the meet, capturing the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:39.92 to earn ten points 

Moravian Top 8 Finishers

  • Junior Nathan Hajel was the runner-up in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:41.95 for eight points while senior Josh Mangini took sixth in 16:03.33 for three points and graduate student Christian Jancsarics was eighth in 16:23.15 for one point
  • Nahf took second in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:47.07 to score another eight points while Hajel was third in a time of 8:57.20 for six points
  • The Greyhounds 4x200-meter relay squad of juniors Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro, sophomore Jacob Fenstermaker and freshman Javon McKay was the runner-up in a time of 1:33.44 to earn eight points
  • McKay was third in the finals of the 60-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time 7.02 seconds for six points, and he had qualified for the finals with an AARTFC qualifying time of 7.01 seconds
  • Senior Casey Frank placed third in the mile run in a PR and AARTFC qualifying time of 4:21.24 to score six points while freshman Logan Betyeman took seventh in 4:27.95 for another two points
  • Moravian's 4,000-meter distance medley relay squad of junior Geoffrey Kleinberg and freshman Jackson Royds, Jordan Gagner and Nate Moore finished third in a time of 10:54.63 to score six points
  • Senior Dan McNicholas finished third in the 35-pound weight throw with a personal best toss of 14.38 meters (47-2.25) to score six points while senior Derek Mason was one spot back at a PR mark of 13.98 meters (45-10.5) to earned five points
  • Freshman Anthony Morillo took third in the shot put with a PR toss of 13.89 meters (45-7) to score six points while senior Jeremy Goll was fourth is a distance of 13.32 meters (43-8.5) to add five points to the Moravian total
  • McKay was fourth in the 200-meter dash with a PR time of 22.93 seconds to earn five points
  • Freshman Mael Tshiyonga posted a PR time of 9.12 seconds in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles to place sixth and score three points. Tshiyonga had qualified in seventh at 9.25 seconds
  • The Hounds' 4x400-meter relay team of Kleinberg, Gagner, Royds and senior Brendon Ward completed the track events at the meet with a seventh-place finish in a time of 3:42.74 for two points
