Greyhounds Win Four Events & Post Seven Regional Qualifying Marks at Coach Pollard Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's outdoor track & field squad won four events and posted seven All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks on the second day of the 2024 Coach Pollard Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track Saturday.

Moravian Event Winners

  • Junio Owen Nahf captured first in the 1,500-meter run in an AARTFC qualifying time of 3:59.76
  • Moravian's 4x100-meter relay of juniors Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro, sophomore Jacob Fenstermaker and freshman Javon McKay won in an AARTFC qualifying, school record and Landmark Conference record time of 41.30 seconds
  • McKay took first in the 100-meter dash finals in an AARTFC qualifying time of 10.59 seconds, tied for the fourth fastest in school history
  • McKay also won the 200-meter dash in and AARTFC qualifying time of 21.83 seconds 

Moravian Top 10 Finishers

  • Sophomore Jerome Luckey was the runner-up in the high jump at an AARTFC qualifying height of 2.07 meters (6-9.25), the second-best mark in program history
  • Graduate student Christian Jancsarics placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:53.18 while junior Jake Farrell took fifth in 10:04.24 and freshman Gavin Hefferan finished eighth at 10:20.36
  • Graduate student Tim King finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 43.22 meters (141-9) while freshman Anthony Morillo was a spot back n fifth at 41.6 meters (136-7)
  • Fenstermaker earned a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash finals in an AARTFC qualifying time of 10.88 seconds while Gray was sixth in 11.03 seconds after qualifying for the finals with an AARTFC qualifying time of 11.00 seconds. Sabastro was tenth in the 100-meter dash preliminaries in 11.20 seconds
  • Fenstermaker placed seventh in the 200-meter dash in 22.23 seconds while Gray was eighth in 22.37 seconds
  • Sophomore Bryan Kerchner took sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:56.59
  • Sophomore Joe Allegro placed tenth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:11.42
  • The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay squad of Nahf, senior Paul Petre, junior Geoffrey Kleinberg and freshman Jackson Royds was ninth in 3:35.44 while the Hounds' relay team of Gray, senior Matt Shea, junior Jason Gartner and freshman Damien De Los Santos Suriel took tenth in 3:36.84
  • Prior to the start of the meet, the Greyhounds honored their eight seniors – Casey Frank, Jeremy Goll, Josh Mangini, Derek Mason, Dan McNicholas, Paul Petre, Matt Shea and Brendon Ward
