XC-Men Get Fast Times From Freshmen at Mule-Falcon Classic

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Five freshmen from the Moravian College men's cross country team helped the Greyhounds finish third in the team competition at Saturday morning's Mule-Falcon Classic at Cedar Crest College.

All five Moravian rookies placed in the top 30 out of 53 runners on Saturday in the 6,000-meter run. The consistent performance garnered the Greyhounds 77 points in the team battle. Moravian finished only a combined 39 seconds behind runner-up Ursinus College.

Cory Taggert set the pace for the Greyhounds with a fifth place overall finishing time of 20:13.96, only hundredths of a second behind the fourth place finisher from Muhlenberg.

Andrew Mitchell was next for Moravian with a 21:18.21 time in the 6K, good for 13th place overall.

Andrew Reed finished his run in 21:56.06 for the 20th place position, while Matt Werner's 22:10.59 was 23rd.

Alex Sobel rounded out a successful day for the Greyhounds with a 28th place time of 22:20.71

The entirety of the Moravian men's team will return to the cross country courses for next Saturday's Dickinson College Long/Short Course Invitational, slated to begin at noon.
