BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior harrier Dillon Farrell finished in sixth place in a massive field of  372 runners at the Paul Short Run – Brown Race at Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon to lead the Moravian College men's cross country team.

Farrell ran a 25:26 in his first 8,000-meter race of the season, which is the senior's second best career time in the 8K and the third fastest in Moravian history. His finishing time was only 22 seconds behind the race's winner, Khari Bowen, Jr. of NCAA Division I Monmouth University.

Farrell's phenomenal time helped the Greyhounds finish 33rd out of 46 in the team competition at the Paul Short Run – Brown Race, which features multiple Division I and II schools and the deepest field Moravian will face all season.

Junior Alec Duncan joined Farrell in the top-100 of the race, finishing in 84th place with a time of 26:51 in the 8K.

Sophomore Jeremy Rigotti (28:19) and freshmen Cory Taggert (29:04) and Andrew Mitchell (29:32) rounded out the top-5 for the Moravian team scoring.

Sophomore Maxwell Korten (29:49) and freshman Andrew Reed (30:23) also finished for the Greyhounds at Lehigh.

The Greyhounds' results came in unseasonably hot weather with temperatures reaching 84 degrees at Lehigh University. A number of harriers suffered from heat-related injuries during the race, prompting emergency services to cancel the women's race later in the day with the temperatures still rising.

Moravian returns to the trails on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Princeton University Invitational, a race with traditionally low times. Farrell ran the fastest time in school history in the 8K last season at Princeton with a 24:44. Duncan, Rigotti and Korten also ran their best times of 2012 at Princeton.
