BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's basketball program has named seniors Reganne Flannery and Sam Osorio as its captains for the 2023-24 season.

"Reganne Flannery and Samantha Osorio were logical selections to lead our team this year. They are both dedicated, hardworking and vocal leaders," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk, who is entering her 37th season leading the Greyhounds. "Reganne has fought through injuries over her career but is ready to step in as the starting point guard this season. Her drive and determination serve as an example to the younger players. Sam has had good success over the course of her career, and we are expecting an even better senior year. Sam knows what it takes to win, and we certainly are expecting her to lead this team to success."

Flannery has played in 35 games during her career while dealing with injuries. She has contributed 83 points, 48 rebounds, 31 assists, 11 steals and ten blocked shots. Flannery was named to the 2023 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Osorio has started 56 of 61 games over the last three seasons for the Greyhounds, and she enters the year with career totals of 569 points, 451 rebounds, 89 steals, 56 blocked shots and 31 assists at Moravian. Osorio earned a pair of Landmark Conference Rookie of the Week honors during her freshman season, and she was honored as the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week once last winter.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to start the 2023-24 schedule on Wednesday, November 8 with a non-conference game at rival Muhlenberg College with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. in Allentown.
