TOWSON, Md. – Senior guard Garrett Johnson (Allentown, Pa./William Allen HS) of the Moravian College men's basketball team was named the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Johnson helped the Greyhounds go 2-0 last week with victories over Ursinus College and conference foe The United States Merchant Marine Academy. Johnson achieved a career-high 25 points against Ursinus. Over the two games, he averaged 18.5 points and three boards per game to go with his eight assists and two steals.
Johnson shot .538 (14-for-26) from the field and .600 (6-for-10) from beyond the arc, including two of the Greyhounds record-breaking 18 three-pointers against USMMA on Saturday.
Moravian, now 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Landmark Conference action, returns to the court on Sunday, December 16th as they travel to rival Muhlenberg College for a Matte Award game. The contest is scheduled for 4 p.m.
