Hounds Named Long & Rochelle as Golf Squad Captains

Kody Long and Joe Rochelle named golf captains

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team has named seniors Kody Long and Joe Rochelle as its captains for the 2019 season.

Head Coach Kevin Edwards has six golfers returning to the roster as the Greyhounds begin the spring portion of the schedule on April 1 at the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational at the Lebanon Country Club.

"Joe and Kody have been great teammates and have worked hard throughout their college career to get better," commented Edwards. "They are always trying to improve and have been great examples for the underclassmen."

Long has a career average of 82.57 over 37 rounds in his career, and he averaged 83.57 during seven rounds last fall. Long, who has six top ten and one top five finish in his career, was selected to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2018, the first year the conference recognized golf as a conference sport and had a conference championship. He made the Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team in 2017 with a sixth place finish in the 72-hole tournament.

Rochelle, has posted a career average of 83.24 strokes over 37 rounds, and he is averaging 83.13 over seven rounds so far in 2018-19. Rochelle has eight top ten finishes in his career including three in the top five, and he was also named to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2018.
