Moravian Honors 62 Student-Athletes at Chi Alpha Sigma Luncheon

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation honored 62 student-athletes Friday afternoon at their annual Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society Luncheon as a kickoff to NCAA Division III Week that runs from April 1-7.

Chi Alpha Sigma works with NCAA and NAIA member institutions to recognize outstanding college student-athletes for their successes both on the field of competition and in the classroom. To be eligible for Chi Alpha Sigma, student-athletes must be a junior and/or senior with a 3.4 or higher GPA and have earned a varsity letter. The new inductees will receive a certificate a medallion with the 31 seniors also receiving and honors cords to wear at graduation in May.

"Greyhound student-athletes have always performed well in the classroom and it is exciting to have an opportunity to recognize these achievements with their induction into Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athletic Honor Society," stated associate Director of Athletics Renee Hellert. "The amount of dedication these students put forth in both their sport and in the classroom is immeasurable and it is an honor to celebrate their success."

Moravian's 2019 Chi Alpha Sigma honorees include 28 seniors and 34 juniors representing all 20 varsity programs and includes the following student-athletes:

Baseball – Junior Ian Csencsits, Senior Mike Mittl, Junior Connor Morro, Junior Kole Rodrigues

Men's Basketball – Senior Nicholas Casazza

Women's Basketball – Senior Karlie Brogan, Senior Ariana Caiati, Junior Nadine Ewald, Senior Caitlin Flanagan, Junior Brooke Santy
