170 Greyhounds Earn Dean's List Honors for Spring 2019 Semester

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation had 170 of its student-athletes receive Dean's List honors from the College for achieving a 3.50 or higher grade-point average during the 2019 Spring semester.

"The Athletic Department is very proud of our student-athlete honorees on the Dean's List for the Spring semester," stated Director of Athletics & Recreation and Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Our coaches understand that academics are a top priority and our athletes all know that success in the classroom comes first, and in order to be a successful athlete, you must be a successful student. Congratulations to all the Dean's List student-athletes."

The 170 Greyhounds account for 37 percent of the student-athletes that began the 2018-19 academic year on teams' rosters, and the total is 23 percent of the 745 total Moravian College students to achieve Dean's List status for the spring. The total also includes 26 student-athletes that are participating in more than one sport and 29 members of the group had a perfect 4.0 during the spring semester.

The football squad had the most honorees with 20 student-athletes earning Dean's List honors while the field hockey team had 17 student-athletes honored followed by the women's soccer squad with 15 and the women's cross country program with 13. The men's lacrosse team had 11 Dean's List selections followed by the women's track & field and men's soccer teams with 10 honorees. The men's cross country squad had nine student-athletes on the Dean's List while the women's basketball, softball and women's volleyball each had eight honorees followed by the women's tennis team with seven. The baseball and men's tennis program's each had six student-athletes on the Dean's List followed by the golf, cheerleading, men's track & field and women's lacrosse squads with five and the men's basketball team with two. The 26 dual-sport student-athletes are listed with their first sport played during the academic year.
