Holze Wins 50th Singles Match as Men's Tennis Tops Goucher

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team posted a 7-2 Landmark Conference victory over Goucher College Saturday at Hoffman Courts in the Greyhounds' final home match of the 2012 season, and senior Kevin Holze earned his 50th career singles win.

The Greyhounds, who clinched their sixth straight postseason berth Friday with a loss by Juniata College, led 2-1 after the doubles action.  Holze and senior Doug Morrow had an 8-0 win at first doubles as Holze extended his school record to 43 career victories while Morrow earned his 39th career win.  Senior Drew Shreter and freshman Lewis Cooper had an 8-1 at second doubles and Shreter moved into second in school history with his 42nd career doubles win.

Moravian then won five of six singles matches for the 7-2 win.  Holze won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles to become the third player in school history with 50 career singles win, and he has a career mark of 50-24.  Morrow won his 28th career singles match at second singles, 6-1, 6-0 while Shreter moved into fourth in school history with his 46th career win with a 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-1) victory at third singles.  Shreter has a 46-27 career singles record.  Cooper won 6-3, 6-0 at fourth singles for the Greyhounds while junior Brad Kutcha posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Monday, April 23rd in a non-conference match at Muhlenberg College.
