Schlosbon's RBI Single Leads Hounds Past Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The No. 24 ranked and second seeded Moravian College softball team won the final elimination game of the 2015 Landmark Conference Tournament as the Greyhounds defeated host and top seed Susquehanna University, 1-0, Saturday afternoon to advance to the championship round.

The Hounds will play fourth seed Elizabethtown College and need to defeat the Blue Jays twice on Saturday to earn the Landmark Conference's automatic berth to the 2015 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Freshman Josie Novak tossed her sixth shutout of the season, allowing just one hit and walking two. Novak stuck out seven Crusaders to increase her total to 143 in her debut season.

The game was scoreless until the seventh inning when Moravian scored the only run. With two outs, freshman catcher Janae Matos doubled down the left field line. Sophomore Niki Maffettone pinch hit and drew a walk before senior first baseman Jenn Dalickas drew her second walk of the game and 41st of the season to load the bases. Junior right fielder Mary Schlosbon connected on an RBI single to right center to score Matos with the winning run.

Schlosbon was 2-for-4 in the game while sophomore left fielder Julie Siragusa was 2-for-2 as Moravian had six hits in the game.
