Alexandra Blair Named Landmark Conference Player of the Week

MADISON, N.J. – Senior forward Alexandra Blair (Hellertown, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) of the Moravian College women's basketball team was named Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 16th. This is the second time this season Blair earned the conference Player of the Week award (12/12/11).

Blair averaged a double-double last week as the Greyhounds went 2-1, winning both Landmark games. She had a high of 20 points in a non-conference, two-point loss to Eastern University. She brought down a high of 17 rebounds against USMMA. On the week, she averaged 16.7 points, 10.3 boards and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 61-percent from the field for the week.

On the season, Blair is averaging 14.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game to go with her 37 assists and 14 steals. She has also moved into tenth place in career rebounds at 599, and she is the school's record holder with 271 career blocked shots.

Moravian hits the road this weekend for two conference battles, first against Juniata College on Friday, January 20th at 7:30 p.m. The second contest is versus Susquehanna University on Saturday, January 21st at 4 p.m.
