Greyhounds Receiving Votes in D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team received votes for the third straight week in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.

The Greyhounds, winners of seven straight, received 21 points this week moving up to just four spots outside of the Top 25. http://www.d3hoops.com/top25/women/2013-14/week3

"The team is playing well, and it is nice to be recognized," stated 27th-year Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "We want to continue to get better and be recognized at the end of the year. The key is to stay consistent."

Moravian, 7-1 after a 78-49 win over Centenary College on Monday, opened its season with a 69-50 loss to Trinity (Texas) University which was 19th in the preseason poll and 25th this week. The Greyhounds have won their last seven games and have trailed at some point in each contest. This past Saturday, Moravian earned a 71-59 victory at Juniata College, ranked 23rd in the poll before falling out this week.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Sunday, December 15 in a Landmark Conference game versus The United States Merchant Marine Academy tipping off in Johnston Hall at 4:00 p.m. Moravian will finish its first semester action on Tuesday, December 17 in a non-conference game at Montclair State University, currently third in the D3hoops.com poll.
