2013 Heartwalk

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Members of the Moravian College field hockey and women's basketball teams participated in the 2013 Lehigh Valley Heart Walk at Northampton Community College on Sunday, September 22nd.

For the field hockey student-athletes, it was a part of a busy weekend that saw the team wins matches on Saturday afternoon on the road and Sunday afternoon at home after completing the walk.

“The Lehigh Valley Heart and Stroke Walk is an important event for me personally," said Head Field Hockey and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Amy Endler. "Both my parents have heart disease and my father had a stroke in 2011. It was wonderful to see such a large crowd at NCC for this year’s walk supporting such a worthy cause. It was a beautiful day and I am glad that field hockey team was a part of it.”

The team members participated in the 2.2 mile walk around the NCC campus to raise donations for the American Heart Association.

The student-athletes raised over $1,200 with their participation in the walk, which has become an annual event for both teams as part of their community service projects.
