Scheeler Honored as Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week

Alex Scheeler honored as Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College freshman pitcher/designated player Alexandria Scheeler has been honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

Scheeler, who received her third weekly honor of the spring from the Landmark Conference and first of the year as a pitcher, earned the victory in the circle in the opening game versus Juniata College as the No. 12 Greyhounds won their 30th game of the season, the fifth straight and 20th overall 30-win season. Scheeler allowed an unearned run on five hits and no walks to go with four strikeouts in a 12-1, five-inning win. At the plate, Scheeler was 3-for-6 with four RBIs, three runs and a double.

"Alex has been very consistent all season, and she has had very good command of her location when pitching," said Head Coach John Byrne.

Top seeded Moravian is slated to host the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 with the Greyhounds taking on fourth seed The University of Scranton in the tournament's opening game on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
