Hounds Finish 3rd at Landmark Championships

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College women's cross country team placed third of eight teams at the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Goucher College Saturday afternoon.

The Hounds posted a team score of 64 points while Landmark newcomer Elizabethtown College captured the team title with 18 points. Senior Emily Lambright made the Landmark All-Conference First Team for the second straight year after finishing fourth of the 80 runners on the 6,000-meter course in a time of 23:21.58.

Sophomore Meg Brockett earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team for a second consecutive fall with a 10th place finish in 23:52.84 while freshman Jillian Troisi was one spot back in a time of 23:56.30 to also make the All-Conference Second Team.

Senior Claire Del Casale was 18th in 24:26.54 while sophomore Sarah Hughes finished in 23rd in 24:46.77. Senior Devon Bedell was one spot back in a season-best time of 25:04.36 while freshman Kirsten Lebo was 25th in 25:09.19.

Rounding out the Greyhounds line-up were freshman Christine Hughes in 39th place, freshman Meredith Colton in 45th place and sophomore Larissa Strycharz in 58th place.

After a week off, the Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, November 15 in the 2014 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional to be hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School.
