BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country team is set to begin its 2017 season on Friday, September 1 when the squad runs in the Annual Lehigh University Opener on the Goodman Campus in South Bethlehem beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Head Coach Jesse Baumann enters his seventh year directing the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs at Moravian this fall, and Baumann has nine returning runners on the women's squad. Leading that list of returnees is sophomore Katie Mayer, who was the 2016 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year after finishing as the runner-up at the Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Moravian at Bicentennial Park in Northampton last November. Mayer also earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team a year ago, and she was on the NCAA DIvision III All-Mideast Region and Freshman All-Region squads after placing 23rd in the regional race.
