TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior punter/defensive back Colin Conway has been named the Landmark Conference Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Conway punted three times in the Greyhounds' 20-19 loss to SUNY Morrisville for an average of 53.3 yards with all three punts ending up inside the 20-yard line, and the 53.3 average is the best in school history for a punter with three or more kicks in a game. Conway also gained 19 yards and a first down while taking a bad snap on a punt attempt and running off the left side.
"Colin has really been remarkable in his role as punter so far this year," commented first-year Head Coach Jeff Long. "He embraced the opportunity early in camp and keeps improving each week. He stepped up in a big way during a game in which the weather was a huge factor!"
Moravian is slated to host Keystone College in the first-ever Landmark Conference football game on Saturday, September 30 with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.
