Field Hockey Falls to Cabrini College

Bethlehem, Pa.---The Moravian College field hockey team hosted Cabrini College on Rocco Calvo Field Monday afternoon, in a non-conference match up resulting in a 3-0 loss.

The Greyhounds would try and get the offense moving with a penalty corner from sophomore forward Erin Tiwold in the eight minute, senior midfielder Catherine Duffin would create a shot off the pass that was blocked, and junior midfielder/defender Rebecca Hamel  followed up with another shot that the keeper would have to save.

Tiwold would look to equalize in the 15th minute, but missed high. Two minutes late Tiwold would try again but this time the shot was blocked. Junior forward Kelly O'Donnell would have a shot off a penalty corner but was saved by the goalie keeping Cabrini in the lead 1-0 heading into halftime.

On another penalty corner in the second half, Tiwold found Duffin, whose shot was blocked, but O'Donnell was there for the rebound shot that was saved by the goalie. The Cavaliers would score in the 37th minute and again in the 64th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Kanyuk had 11 saves in the match for the Blue and Grey.

The Greyhounds are back in action on Wednesday, September 17 away at 4:00 p.m. against Cedar Crest College.
