Field Hockey Drops Landmark Conference Match to Goucher

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team dropped a 5-0 Landmark Conference match to Goucher College on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon as the squad wore pink socks for its annual Paly for a Cure contest.

The Greyhounds controlled play early with senior forwards Erin Tiwold and Kyla Rodrigues each putting shots on the cage in the first 4:04 of action. However, the Gophers would net three goals in the final 14 minutes of the first half to take a 3-0 lead. Rodrigues tried to cut into the lead just 22 seconds into the second half but a save kept her shot out of the goal.

Senior goalie Megan Kanyuk made 25 saves for the Greyhounds to improve her career total to 451 saves as she moved into second in school history. Junior midfielder/defender Katie Morrison had a defensive save for the Blue and Grey.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, October 12 in a Landmark Conference match at Elizabethtown College beginning at 4:30 p.m.
