BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- For the fifth straight year, the Moravian College men's golf team has won the John Makuvek Cup over DeSales University and Muhlenberg College, needing a comparison of the fifth-man scores to earn the cup in the seventh John Makuvek Cup played on the Weyhill Course at Saucon Valley Country Club Tuesday afternoon.

Both the Greyhounds and the Bulldogs had team scores of 317 while the Mules shot a 324. The difference between Moravian and DeSales ended up being four strokes on the final pairing with an 89 for the Blue and Grey and a 93 for the Bulldogs.

Freshman Andrew Hozza shot his second straight 73 on the Weyhill Course to take medalist honors among the 15 golfers, making his career low. Hozza had four birdies and 10 pars in his one-over par round. Senior Nick Kuhn finished as the runner-up with a two-over par round of 74 that included two birdies and 13 pars while junior Thomas Lakata was 10th with 83 and eight pars. Junior Kody Kolnik added an 87 with eight pars to finish 11th while sophomore Will Breslin had the 89 with six pars to break the tie and finish 12th overall.

"Andrew and Nick played really good rounds to lead the team," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "The other guys hung in there to make this a great team win and our fifth Makuvek Cup in a row."

Moravian is slated to compete in the two-day, 36-hole Montgomery Cup hosted by Rosemont College at the Concord Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6.
