Men's Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Match at Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-4 non-conference decision at Bryn Athyn College Saturday.

The Hounds, who are now 5-2 on the season, were led by freshman attack James Carroll, who netted three goals. Senior midfielder Dave Fiumara had a goal and an assist while freshman attack Mark Laratta and freshman midfielder Alec Oriolo each had an assist.

Freshman goalie Kurt Dick had nine saves while playing just over 52 minutes of action while junior Michael Smith had two saves. Dick and junior defender Ed Delia each had five ground balls to lead the Greyhounds, and Delia also caused two turnovers. Laratta added four ground balls while freshman midfielder Hayden DuPont was 3-for-5 on face-offs with three ground balls. Freshman midfielder Rick Guerra won 8-of-13 face-offs and scooped up three ground balls while freshman midfielder Christopher Klodowski had three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

The Greyhounds trailed 5-0 at halftime and were down 8-0 before Carroll netted a pair of goals in the third quarter. Carroll would score again just over midway through the fourth quarter while Fiumara netted his goal with just over four minutes remaining in the match.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 23 in a non-conference match at the College of Mount Saint Vincent starting at 4:00 p.m.
