Laratta & Dick Named Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive & Defensive Athletes of the Week

Kurt Dick and Mark Laratta Honored as Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Athletes of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College seniors attack Mark Laratta and goalie Kurt Dick have been named the Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 record last week to begin the 2019 season. Laratta had eight goals and three assists to go with six ground balls and one caused turnover. He had two goals and two assists in a 21-2 win at Centenary (N.J.) University to open the 2019 season. Laratta then had six goals, an assist and four ground balls in a 12-6 victory versus Delaware Valley University with his final goal of the match making him the second player in school history to reach 100 career goals.

"Mark has been a great player for the last four years," noted Head Coach Dave Carty. He's an exceptional offensive player and make plays for us constantly."

Dick had a 4.67 goals-against average with 16 saves, a 69.6 save percentage, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in 90 minutes of action. He opened the season with three saves in the first half at Centenary. Dick then had 13 saves in a 12-6 win versus Delaware Valley.

"Kurt is the heart of the defense, the guys play for him and he's a great stopper," stated Carty. "He makes some incredible saves game in and game out."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 2 in a non-conference contest at Kean (N.J.) University beginning at 12:00 p.m.
