GALLOWAY, N.J. --- The Moravian University women's cross country team earned its first meet win of the season, capturing first place that Stockton University Osprey Open Saturday morning.
How It Happened
- The Hounds scored 49 points to lead the 16-team field, and the squad was 15 points ahead of runner-up Stockton
- Sophomore Tara Smurla paced the Blue & Grey with a time of 23:21.41 on the 6,000-meter course as she finished fourth of 133 runners
- Junior Amber Poniktera placed sixth overall in 24:00.06 while junior Rachael Goodman took 11th in a time of 24:12.41
- The Greyhounds put seven other runners in the top 30 of the race with freshman Alexis Hockenberry placing 13th in 24:24.30, sophomore Meghan Myers taking 15th in 24:37.80, freshman Alyssa Hockenberry finishing 16th with a time of 24:48.67, senior Pia Mazzella DiBosco placing 17th in 24:49.27, junior Ally Meeks taking 23rd in 25:06.04 freshman Kayla O'Neil placing 27th in a time of 25:21.0 and junior Lexi Rushatz finishing 29th at 25:27.36
