Jordan & Thieme Named to Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Unsung Hero Team

Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Media Organization Scholar-Athlete Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior Laura Jordan and senior Aaron Thieme from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Unsung Player Teams of the Month for December by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its first luncheon of the 2012-13 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Jordan, a forward/center, has helped the Moravian women open the year with a 6-0 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Landmark Conference action in her first year as a starter. Jordan is leading the Greyhounds with 12 blocks while averaging 7.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. She has the team's highest free throw percentage at .857 (12-for-14), and recently set a new career-high with 13 rebounds in a single game versus Juniata College.

Joining Jordan on the December Unsung Player Team of the Month were Megan DeMutis from Cedar Crest, Amanda Turowski of Delaware Valley, Taylor Greene from DeSales, Kelsey Murray of East Stroudsburg, Nicole Donahue from Kutztown and Kate Clawson of Muhlenberg.

Thieme, a forward/center, has helped the Greyhounds to a 5-1 overall mark and a 1-0 slate in Landmark Conference action. Thieme is averaging 6.7 rebounds and 5.8 points per game to go with his team-best seven blocks. He scored a career-high 13 points against Lebanon Valley College earlier this season.

Joining Thieme on the December Unsung Player Team of the Month were Came Lee of Delaware Valley, Paul Pammer from DeSales, Gerald Bridges of East Stroudsburg, Abdul King from Kutztown and Hunter Forsman of Muhlenberg.

The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
