Moravian's Brown, Zambelli & Poling Receive Centennial All-Conference Honors

Aaron Brown '18 and Nick Zambelli '19 are named to the 2017 Centennial All-Conference Second Team while Brett Poling '20 earns a spot on the Honorable Mention squad.

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Three Moravian College football players have been named to the 2017 Centennial All-Conference Teams with senior tight end/punter Aaron Brown and junior defensive back Nick Zambelli earning spots on the Second Team and sophomore defensive lineman Brett Poling being selected to the Honorable Mention squad.

Brown had career-highs in catches with 22, in yards with 343 and in touchdowns with four this fall, and he completed his three-year career with 39 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns. Brown also punted 18 times this fall for an average of 34.3 yards, and he finished his career with an average of 36.8 yards per punt on 73 punts, the fourth-best career punting average in school history.

"Aaron had a very good career," stated Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "He had good production for us, and he played his best this season, which is want you want to see in a senior. Whether it was offense or special teams, Aaron did whatever was asked of him to help the team win."

Zambelli, who served as a tri-captain this season, was third on the squad this fall with 70 tackles including tying for the team lead with 44 solo stops. He also had one tackle for loss, one sack, six passes defended including three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. Two of Zambelli's interceptions came in the end zone to stop scoring threats. Zambelli, who is a three-year starter for the Hounds, has 164 career tackles with 106 solo stops, one tackle for loss, one sack, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and 17 passes defended including seven interceptions while playing all 31 games of his career.

"Nick has gotten better each year and this year he emerged as the leader in the secondary," Pukszyn noted. "His attitude and his attention to detail has helped him become a top performer in the conference. We're excited to have him another year also."

Poling started every game at center this fall for the Greyhounds after starting at right guard during his freshman season. This fall, Poling and the rest of the offense line helped the Hounds average 328.4 yards per game including 138.7 yards on the ground per contest.

"Brett had a very productive year as a sophomore and it obviously didn't go unnoticed" commented Pukszyn. "His work ethic is tremendous and he did a great job at center this year. We're excited to have two more years with Brett."
