HOBOKEN, N.J. --- The Moravian University field hockey team rallied from a first half deficit to tie the contest before dropping a 2-1 non-conference decision at Stevens Institute of Technology Monday evening.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first quarter, the Ducks took a 1-0 lead junior over five minutes into the second quarter on a scrum in front of the cage after a penalty corner for the only marker of the first 30 minutes of play
- The Hounds knotted the match at a little over five minutes into the second half when senior defender Jenna Segrave blasted a shot in from the edge on the circle on a penalty corner off a pass from senior forward Hanna Leto
- Stevens notched the winning goal 2:05 into the fourth quarter on a redirected shot
Inside the Numbers
- Segrave's goal was her first of the season and fourth of her career while Leto recorded her seventh career assist
- Freshman goalie Maia Machado posted a career-best 16 saves for the Greyhounds
- Segrave also added a defensive save, her sixth in two seasons at Moravian
- The Ducks held a 32-13 advantage in shots and a 27-13 edge in penalty corners
