Greyhounds Drop 2023 Landmark Conference Opener to Scranton

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad dropped its opening game of the 2023 Landmark Conference season, falling to visiting The University of Scranton, 3-0, on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Royals would do all of the scoring in the first quarter with goals in the ninth, 12th and 14th minutes for a 3-0 edge after 15 minutes of action
  • Scranton maintained its lead throughout the remainder of the contest

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior defender Jenna Segrave registered her third defensive save of the season and eight of her career in the contest
  • Freshman goalie Maia Machado made eight saves in the match
  • The Royals held a 19-8 advantage in shots and an 11-10 edge in penalty corners
