Greyhounds Finish Fifth in Alvernia University Spring Invitational

MOHNTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team placed fifth of nine teams at the Alvernia University Spring Invitational played at the LedgeRock Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds had a four-man score of 334, finishing one stroke behind Cabrini University and three shots behind Muhlenberg College. Penn State Berks won the tournament with a 302 while the host Golden Wolves were second with a 325.

Senior Kody Long paced the Hounds with a six-over par round of 78 that included nine pars and a pair of birdies to finish in a tie for seventh of the 46 golfers on the course. Junior Nick Kuhn carded an 83 with 11 pars to finish in a tie for 18th while sophomore Thomas Lakata tied for 24th with a round of 85 that included eight pars and a birdie. Senior Joe Rochelle fired an 88 with five birdies and two birdies to finish tied for 33rd while freshman Will Breslin had a 90 with six pars to tie for 36th.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 9 when the squad competes in the Ursinus College Invitational beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Stonewall Golf Club North.
