Hounds Place Third in Moravian Spring Invitational

BATH, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team finished third of 12 teams at the Moravian Spring Invitational hosted by the Greyhounds at Southmoore Golf Course in Bath Thursday afternoon.

The Hounds had a four-man team score of 310, the best showing of the season by a stroke, while Gettysburg College edged Lebanon Valley College, 285-286, for the team title. Gettysburg's Dane Sethre-Hofstad and Lebanon Valley's Andrew Capodanno both carded two-under par rounds of 69 with Sethre-Hofstad earning medalist honors with a lower back nine, 33-34.

Moravian senior Kody Long finished in a tie for eighth of the 60 golfers with a 74 that included four birdies and eight pars. Sophomore Victor Tavares tied for 13th with a 77 which included a trio of birdies and six pars in his first round of the spring while sophomore Thomas Lakata was tied for 20th with a 79 as he carded two birdies and nine pars. Junior Nick Kuhn was 26th with an 80 that included 10 pars while senior Joe Rochelle tied for 27th with an 81, which included 11 pars. Freshman Will Breslin and sophomore Kody Kolnik each played as individuals with Breslin hitting 10 pars and carding an 82 to tie for 30th while Kolnik had seven pars and an 85 to finished tied for 38th.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Sunday, April 14 in the first round of the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Scranton at Glenmaura National Golf Course.
