Greyhounds Ready to Head to Catholic for 2024 Landmark Conference First Round Contest on April 30

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's lacrosse team has earned the fifth seed in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament and will travel to fourth seed The Catholic University of America for a first round match on Tuesday, April 30 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.

Admission to Tuesday's match is $7 for adults and $4 for minors ages 10-17 and seniors 62 and older. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID. All ticketing will be done online at https://landmarkconference.org/sports/2022/4/25/championships-tickets.aspx?path=champs, and there will be no cash accepted on site.

Ninth-year Head Coach Dave Carty has led the Blue & Grey to a 9-8 record, and he has guided Moravian to its second Landmark Conference Tournament appearance and first since 2021. When the Greyhounds and Cardinals met earlier this season, Moravian scored 39 seconds into overtime for an 11-10 victory on John Makuvek Field.

Senior attack Trevor Dzama leads the Hounds with 27 goals and 40 assists to go with 23 ground balls, and he has become Moravian's all-time leading scorer with 202 points while setting both school and Landmark Conference records with 128 career assists. Junior midfielder Aaron Judge has contributed a team-high 34 goals to go with six assists, 32 ground balls and ten caused turnovers while junior midfielder Dan Kelly has added 22 goals, ten assists, 19 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Graduate student attack Connor James has netted 18 goals with eight assists and 14 ground balls, and he has set the school record with 147 career goals while sophomore attack Ryan Kokoszka has 18 goals, eight assists and 15 ground balls.

Sophomore attack Vincent Devito has recorded 17 goals, seven assists and 11 ground balls while freshman attack Nick Coffaro has 12 goals, 11 assists, 16 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Senior attack Brennan Fluehr has 11 goals and four assists while junior midfielder Steven Salica has posted eight goals, five assists and 18 ground balls. Junior midfielder Kyle Weiss has netted three goals and four assists to go with 36 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers while freshman attack Brady Quinn has three goals and ten ground ball and junior midfielder Nick Sullivan has netted a pair of goals.

Junior face-off specialist Gannon Mesko has one goal and is 221-for-358 on face-offs with a team-high 99 ground balls while sophomore midfielder RJ Toogood has a goal, 11 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Senior midfielder Joey Furino has one goal, one assist and nine ground balls while junior midfielder Aden Moskovitz has registered two assists, 47 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers. Senior ling stick midfielder Matt Baer has two assists, 75 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers while freshman midfielder Jack Bissmeyer has contributed one assist.

Senior defender Jason Levy has added 51 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers while sophomore defender Mike Sickler has recorded 38 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. Junior defender Austin Hittle has contributed an assist, 34 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and is 7-for-12 on face-offs while sophomore midfielder Frank Britsch has scooped up 21 ground balls. Freshman long stick midfielder Andrew Cassese has 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers while senior face-off specialist Connor Estes is 7-for-20 on face-offs with five ground balls.

Freshman goalie Liam Kelly has 90 saves, 18 ground balls, four caused turnovers, and assist, a 9.50 goals-against average and a 4-4 record in 499 minutes of play while junior goalie Thomas Lee has 81 saves, 14 ground balls, a 10.70 goals-against average and a 5-4 mark in 471 minutes of action. Junior goalie Sean Boyer has three saves in 26 minutes while senior goalie Avery Napolitano has two saves in 14 minutes and freshman goalie Nick Crames has one save in 10 minutes.

With the addition of Lycoming College and Wilkes University to the Landmark Conference in 2023-24, all postseason tournaments have expanded to six teams with the top two seeds earning first round byes. The winner of Tuesday's first round match between the Greyhounds and Cardinals will advance to face top seed Elizabethtown College in a semifinal match on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday's other first round match is between sixth seed Drew University and third seed The University of Scranton with the winner then facing off with second seed Susquehanna University in a semifinal on May 2. The top remaining seed will host the 2024 Landmark Conference Championship match on Saturday, May 4 to determine the conference's automatic berth to the 2024 NCAA Division III Tournament.
