Women's Soccer Falls to Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – The Moravian College women's soccer team fell to Misericordia University, 4-0, Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds would get a shot to score in the 12th minute when sophomore midfielder Kirsten Schall took a corner kick that went to senior defender Eileen Black, who sent the shot just high. Senior midfielder Laura Roney would break the tie for the Cougars after she scored in the 30th minute. Roney then connected on her second goal two minutes later to put Misericordia up 2-0.

Roney would put the Cougars up 3-0 with her third goal of the match, three minutes into the second half. Sophomore midfielder Megan Lannigan assisted Roney on the play. Misericordia added another goal in the 52nd minute to go up 4-0. The Greyhounds then got three shots off in the span of 30 seconds with two hitting the crossbar, and the other being saved in the 71st minute. The Cougars then went onto win 4-0.

Junior goalkeeper Genevieve Chaleff made 14 saves in the loss while freshman goalie Maureen Ciccosanti made five saves in the shutout.

Moravian returns to the pitch on Tuesday, September 18th as they take on Elizabethtown College. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
