Women's Soccer Earns 2011-12 NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Ks. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team was among 504 college women's soccer teams recognized with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

The Greyhounds posted a team GPA of 3.24 under head coach Brienne Smith and last year's squad also included defender Diana Feldmann, who earned Capital One Academic All-America Second Team honors.  A total of six team members earned spots on the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll a year ago while maintaining over a 3.20 GPA.

The Moravian women's soccer team finished the 2012 season with a 10-9-2 record while reaching the finals of the Landmark Conference Tournament and participating in the 2012 ECAC Division III South Quarterfinals.

A total of 726 college soccer teams (22 men, 504 women) posted a team GOA of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.  Of that total, 152 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.  To see a complete listing of this year's NSCAA College Team Academic Award recipients, visit http://www.nscaa.com/news/2012/11/2011-12-team-academic-award.
