Black Named ECAC South Defensive Player of the Year

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Senior defender Eileen Black of the Moravian College women's soccer team was named the ECAC South Division III Defensive Player of the Year along with being named to the All-Star Team.

This is Black's fifth honor this postseason after garnering NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year and being named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team and Fall All-Academic Team.

Black, who earned her fourth All-Conference selection after being on the First Team in 2010 and All-Conference Second Team as a junior and freshman, helped the Greyhounds post seven shutouts thanks to her leadership on the defensive side of the ball. Black had 14 goals and five assists for 33 career points while playing in 77 career matches.

The Greyhounds were 10-9-2 while playing in the Landmark Conference Championship match, and reaching the ECAC quarterfinals.
