Farrell Repeats as Landmark Runner of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Another Monday means another Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for junior Dillon Farrell, who captured the award for the second straight week.

Farrell led the Greyhounds to a fifth place finish at the Catholic University of America Invitational on Saturday with a time of 19:33.6 on the 6,000-meter course, an abbreviated part of the 8,000-meter course that will be used for the 2013 Landmark Conference Championship in October. Farrell was sixth overall of 73 runners but he was the top NCAA Division III runner, finishing behind four runners from meet champion American University and one competitor from George Washington University.

"Dillon's race actually could have gone better," Head Coach Jesse Baumann said. "He took a wrong turn at a corner near the finish and lost some time and places because of it, so considering that, we were pretty satisfied with his race. He's running with a lot of confidence right now so we're excited to see what he can do in a few weeks when we get going again at some big races such as Paul Short and at Princeton."

Farrell and the rest of the Greyhounds will have two weeks off until they return to action on Saturday, September 28 at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational in Carlisle.
