Hounds Fall for First Time in 2018-19 in Hard-Fought Match vs. Randolph

HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Moravian College women's tennis squad fell for the first time in six matches during the 2018-19 season, dropping a hard-fought, 5-4 decision to Randolph (Va.) College at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina Monday.

The Greyhounds trailed 2-1 after doubles action with the tandem of sophomores Brooke Adams and Mary Angle posting an 8-7 (7-4) win at second doubles.

The squads would split the singles contests with Adams earning a straight sets win at fourth singles, junior Lauren Steinert winning in two sets at third singles and freshman Hannah Pellicciotti earning her first victory for the Blue and Grey at fifth singles. Sophomore Destiny George played into a third set before falling at sixth singles.

Moravian will conclude its trip to the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head on Wednesday, March 6 when the squad plays Sweet Briar (Va.) College at 4:00 p.m.
