Sophomore Allison Vanek Named Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore Allison Vanek (Reigelsville, PA/Wilson) of the Moravian College women's track & field team was named Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week of February 20th.

Vanek won a pair of events at the Susquehanna Open on Saturday. She cleared the ECAC qualifying height of 3.59 meters (11 feet, 9 ¼ inches) to win the pole vault competition at the meet. Vanek then won the long jump with a jump of 5.19 meters (17 feet, ½ inch). The long jump distance was also good for an ECAC qualifying mark.

The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, February 25th when they head to Susquehanna University for the 2012 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
