Women's Cross Country 9th at Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country teams opened its 2012 season with ninth place finishes at the Lehigh University Invitational run on the Goodman Campus in Bethlehem.

The Greyhounds finished ninth of nine squads with 263 points.  The University of Delaware won the meet at 26 points, capturing four of the top seven spots.

Sophomore Jessie Goldberg led Moravian's squad with a 65th place finish of 98 runners with a time of 25:53.97 on the 6,000-meter course.  Sophomore Claire Del Casale took 82nd in 27:23.56 while junior Jennifer Parodi was 84th at 27:32.00.  Rounding out the top five for the Greyhounds were sophomore Emily Lambright in 85th in 27:42.86 and senior Emma Pacheco taking 85th in 28:01.43.  Sophomore Alyssa Tallon was 94th for Moravian in 31:09.49.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, September 15th when the squad travels to Ft. Roberdeau Historic Site in Altoona for the Juniata College Invitational. The course will also be the site of the 2012 Landmark Conference Championships on October 27th.
