Women's Cross Country Runner-Up at 2012 Landmark Meet

ALTOONA, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country team won came up 12 points shy of defending their Landmark Conference title, finishing with 75 points behind The Catholic University of America which scored 63 points at the 2012 Landmark Conference Championship onship meet at the Fort Roberdeau Historic Site in Altoona hosted by Juniata College Saturday.  The host Eagles were third with 80 points while The University of Scranton was fourth with 87 points.

The Greyhounds had three runners earn Landmark All-Conference Second Team honors with sophomore Claire Del Casale finishing 11th in the 69-runner field with a time of 24:43.20 on the 6,000-meter course.  Junior Jennifer Smilgis was 12th in 24:58.90 while sophomore Jessie Goldberg finished 14th in a time of 25:12.90.  Sophomore Emily Lambright was 16th in the race in 25:20.60 while senior Emma Pacheco rounded out the Moravian top five with a 27th place finish in 26:06.60.

Junior Jennifer Parodi was 42nd in the race in 27:06.60 while sophomore Devon Bedell finished one spot back at 43rd in a time of 27:09.70.  Rounding out the Moravian lineup were sophomore Alyssa Tallon in 55th place in 28:32.10 and freshman Alexandriah Sabarese in 69th in 32:55.70.

Moravian will have a week off before returning to action at the 2012 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional being hosted by Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 10th.
