Greyhounds Drop Non-Conference Contest at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's lacrosse team dropped a 22-6 decision in non-conference action at DeSales University Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds netted the first goal of the evening as sophomore attack Steven Salica found the net just 1:37 into action. The Bulldogs countered five and a half minutes later to knot the score at 1-1, and DeSales added four more goals to lead 5-1 after 15 minutes of action
  • The Bulldogs put in four goals to start the second quarter to make it a 9-1 advantage with nearly 11 and a half minutes until the intermission. DeSales tacked on two more markers to lead 11-1 at halftime
  • The Bulldogs began the second half with a pair of quick goals before graduate student attack Connor James stopped the run with a goal for the Blue & Grey at the 10:55 mark. Freshman attack Vincent Devito and sophomore midfielder Nick Sullivan tallied goal for the Hounds as Moravian cut the deficit to 13-4; however, DeSales ran off four goals to hold a 17-4 advantage after 45 minutes of play
  • DeSales scored five times in the fourth period before James and sophomore midfielder Aaron Judge found the net in the final two minutes for Moravian to finish off the scoring

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had six different players score a point with James netting a pair of goals. Salica, Sullivan, Devito and Judge each tallied one goal
  • Junior attack Trevor Dzama added an assist
  • Sophomore goalie Thomas Lee recorded six saves in the first half of the match while junior goalie Avery Napolitano posted four saves in the final 30 minutes of the contest
  • Sophomore midfielders Aden Moskovitz and Kyle Weiss both scooped up four ground balls while sophomore defender Jason Levy added three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers
  • Sophomore midfielder Gannon Mesko was 7-for-24 on faceoffs with two ground balls while junior Connor Estes was 2-for-4 in the faceoff circle
